A trip to France from Scotland

People think that if you live in the United Kingdom it is easy for you to get about, but those people obviously don’t know Scotland very well! I live in quite a remote area, and unfortunately I don’t drive. This is fine generally, because there is a fairly decent bus timetable running through the day to the city of Edinburgh, but when it comes to going anywhere in the evenings, you can forget about the buses!
I had a real problem last year, because I had planned to go on holiday to France, but I had not considered the difficulty of getting to the airport! The plane that I was taking didn’t leave until about six in the morning! This meant that I had to arrive at the airport at four in the morning. If I were to rely on public transport alone it would mean getting to the airport for about seven o clock in the evening, meaning almost twelve hours in the airport! This was something that I definitely didn’t fancy doing, so I had to get a little bit creative.
I had a look online to see if there were any easy solutions that wouldn’t cost the earth, and I managed to find a taxi company that seemed to specialise in this sort of thing. Getting a taxi Edinburgh would be pretty affordable for me, so I booked it there and then.
When it came to the day of travelling, I was thrilled to see the taxi waiting outside of my house five minutes early. The driver was excellent company on the journey to the airport, and he even had some handy tips about how to pass the time whilst I was in the airport! This was a great way to start the holiday and now at least I know exactly what to do in order to get to the airport next time!
