These days people love to travel abroad for their holidays, but it is not always easy to do so. The bottom line is that finances has become a major factor in choosing a holiday destination. More and more people are staying in Britain for their holidays, but when you actually analyse this, you notice a strange thing – it is actually more expensive to go on holiday in Britain than it is to go abroad!
Of course, you have to bear in mind the price of flights to a foreign country, but if you are in England you will have to pay for the petrol to get you to your destination, and when you get there, the food will be more expensive, and the hotel will be more expensive than almost anywhere else in Europe.
A great destination that is not going to break the bank is the Algarve. At the south of Portugal lies a wonderful place that people have been visiting for years. To find these fantastic and affordable holidays all you really need to do is to search the internet for holidays to Algarve and you will come up with a list as long as your arm of holidays that will suit you down to the ground. Many British consumers planning a stay-cation at home may well find that it is fact far cheaper for them to take a holiday abroad. With destinations such as Lanzarote in the Canary Islands offering excellent value for money this summer.
The recent improvement in the pound versus the euro and the discounting of holiday packages by tour operators has started to encourage a last minute rush for holidays abroad. And Lanzarote is one of the many destinations to benefit. Thanks to the fact that the island offers an abdundance of affordable accommodation, with Lanzarote apartments available from as little as €25 per night. Package holidays in Lanzarote have also come down in price by around 13% this summer. As tour operators come to terms with over capacity and indulge in a bout of last minute price discounting.
Travelling to this cool Canary Island has never been cheaper too – thanks to the ready availability of low cost Lanzarote flights from airports throughout Britain. Where will tourists find the best accommodation deals? Concentrate your search on the two main resorts of Puerto del Carmen and Playa Blanca for the best last minute offers. Whilst Playa Blanca is situated right at the southern foot of the island.
During August the weather in Lanzrote can get seriously hot, with temperatures climbing well into the 30´s. Fortunately though this is usually tempered by the cooling breeze of the Trade Winds, so helping to make conditions much more bearable than on the Spanish mainland.
